Create a ranking

Create a ranking to let users arrange options in their preferred order

The main steps are:

1. Create a ranking
2. Add choices
3. Finalize rating settings and launch
4. Embed the ranking
5. See the results

Go to “contests” and click “create contest” and then choose “ranking”

First define the basic information: the name of the contest, introduction, and start, end and publishing dates of the ranking. You can also use a cover video to introduce the ranking or just add a cover photo.

On the bottom of the screen you can add choices, on who or what users can make a ranking of.

Edit the ranking choices by clicking on them. There you can add more photos of the choice and a title, the name of the choice. You can also enter a link to a video of the choice.

By clicking “back to list” you will arrive at the list of choices. There you can change the order in which choices are displayed by default.

On the right side menu you can adjust more settings. The most important one is “positions” – you can choose how many votes – or points – each position in the ranking gets, and how many positions there are in total. The winner and the final rankings will be decided by the sum of the total votes.

You can also adjust when the results of the ranking are shown. You can do this manually by first selecting “never” and then “always” when you want to publish the results. You can also choose the “until reveal” option which shows the results on the publish date and time, or show the standings each time someone votes.

You can also set if the user is required to have a Choicely account or not, meaning, if they have logged into your app or not.

Click publish contest when you are ready. The contest will go live on the date you chose in the “start date” section. You can still edit the ranking, just don't forget to save it.

You can also embed your ranking to your website by going to the “widget” section and copying embed code from the right menu. In this section you can also see how your contest looks and change the look and feel from the right menu.

You can see the results of your ranking by going to the Contests list, find your contest. Hover your mouse over its status, and click to the Dashboard! You can see the results like the total number of votes and percentages. You can also see the result by clicking the contest and then clicking “go to results”
