Here’s how to create and use article templates. Use templates when making new articles to save time and make sure you will follow the same design in future articles.
The steps are:
- Create an article and save it as a template
- Find your template and save a new article using it
- Edit your article template
1. Create an article and save it as a template
First create an article – or edit an existing one – to become your template. Follow the steps to creating and editing an article here. Finally, save it as a template from the blue “Save as template” button (1A).
Give the template a name (1B).
2. Find your template and save a new article using it
When you want to create a new article on top of the template you created, go to “Articles” (2A), and choose “Create article” (2B).
Inside the article, you’ll see a “Use article template” option on the top left (2C).
Click it, and select your template on the list (2D).
Now you’ll see your article template. Edit your article content and save it as a new article (green “Save” button)(2E).
If you won’t finish your editing right away, it is advisable to at least change the article headline, the article title (2F) and thumbnail on the middle (2G) so you can find your article on the article list later and avoid mixups.
3. Edit your article template
You can go back to editing your article template by clicking to “Articles” (3A), then selecting “Templates” from the top left (3B). Select the template you’d like to edit (3C).
Make the changes you want in the article builder and finally save your updated template from “Save template” (3D).
You can also save the template as a new one when you give it a name that’s different from the previous version (3E).
